An Example in Service

This is a very humbling reference in all of the Holy Bible. The God who created this universe, humbles Himself to wash the feet of 12 human beings. We have to realize that foot washing in Bible days was a very disgusting practice. Followers of rabbis would not even wash the rabbi's feet. Jewish servants could not even be forced to wash their master's feet. Yet Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, washed his followers feet voluntarily! Jesus Christ did this to leave us an example of being a servant. How important is Christ's example in humility and service today. One last thought: Scripture tells us that if we fulfill God's will in our lives, and live a life pleasing to Him, our Father will say to us, "Well done, thou good and faithful SERVANT." Christ left us the example because we will be judged as servants on Judgment Day. Let us live a life of service, just like Christ did.
