Us vs Him
We are born raised and taught to learn from experiences. We are taught in School to read, regurgitate, evaluate and repeat. So when the Word says to have Faith, Trust the Lord, and not our own understanding, or our own wisdom, many of us fall away.
We don't leave Christ, the church or start living for the devil but we close the Word out of our lives. We say on the inside, "Yeah, but..." When we do that we are in effect canceling out His Word and His wisdom.
Adam said the same thing when he chose what the serpent said over what God had told him.
It's not the easiest thing to start doing when all we have learned how to live by what we have seen, and done. But it isn't impossible. It isn't easy to breath under water as a scuba diver does but it can happen.
His body is telling him to stop breathing but he breaths anyway.
Take that step of faith and walk in His Word in His understanding and you will never want to turn back. :)
