Immediate Response (When Not To Delay)
Matthew 2: 14 - This verse is awesome... Joseph is asleep and hears from the Lord in a dream.
"Get up! Flee to Egypt with the child and his mother,"
So did Joseph delay and plan out this action??? No, "That night Joseph left for Egypt..."
Joseph heard from the Lord and took action, immediate action. He was asleep, but when he woke up from the dream he got his stuff and left "that night" (not in the morning, not the next day, but "that night" while it was still dark!). How many times do we hear from the Lord and delay? Why? If you hear God's will, do not delay, but instead act! Do not stop to pray, but move out and make it a reality (if you heard Him, you know His will...do you need to pray to hear it again???).
Heroes are known for their response. It's immediate, it's active, and sometimes it's quite aggressive. This verse reminds me to be heroic in my response to God.
