God's promises to us may not come today, but they will come
As I read this section of scripture, the thought comes to mind of just how impatient we are as people, never wanting to wait for those things which God has promised. Here Caleb received the land he was promised by God forty-five years earlier for his faithful and wholehearted service. Forty-five years! Many of us through scripture or prayer receive promises from God, but it seems that the promises are never going to be fulfilled. We must learn to be patient and wait upon the Lord (1 Timothy 6:10-11; James 1:2-4). His timing is perfect, and he will do what he promised.
