I spoke with a neighbor a few weeks ago. He said he wanted these Jehovah's witnesses that were walking around the neighborhood "to go sell crazy somewhere else." He said he was a Druid and didn't believe in all the Jesus folklore. He thought it was crazy that a father would give his son to save people.
As I thought about this later, I thought that we all see the story in such different ways. Some only see a God who gave His Son for us. I don't think we can quite comprehend that. I began thinking that this is more of a "Ransom story." Galatians 3:22 tells us it is. All human kind was being held ransom by sin. God had one choice, to come save us Himself.
If my children were taken ransom, I would want to trade myself for them as well. Thankfully, Christ died to save all people not just my kids or your kids.
