Teach a man to fish...
This scripture reminds me of the old saying "Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for life". The reason it reminds me of that is because it sounds like, in tough times when our faith is being tried and perfected we are learning how to live by faith and to actually use faith (or in my analogy how to fish). We know, from Gods word, that it takes faith to please Him and faith is our vehicle to Gods promises and blessings. Then, why do we want to be like the starving man who wants someone to toss him a fish when we are in need? Shouldn't we instead, learn how to fish (how to use our faith and to walk by faith) and then we are equipped to face each day with a knowing that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus for whatever we face. Because, like the man that learned to fish, we know HOW to access Gods provisions and walk in victory. We know how to use our faith, faith tested and perfected for Gods glory and our victory.
