as a church...
as a church- this should be our goal. to build each other up and love everyone. the disciples and prophets came before us (in this hard, cruel world, just like we are) and its all too easy to read our bible and think- wow, they did such awesome things and I can never compare. as a church, we will never do such amazing work. well, why not?! are we not gods people, made by him, for him, in his image, to his perfect specification? why do we believe god has a plan for others but not us?!
here's some fantastic news: god loves us. all of us. every single person ever to exist. all equally, wonderfully, unfailing, never changing, all consuming powerful amazing LOVE. why would he love bob down the road more than he loves you? (because bob does this, and that, and he's so great, we cry inwardly). yes, we are different and his knows that because, hello, he created us like that. maybe bob looks at you and thinks wow, she's got it together, I could never be as (insert characteristic here) as her!!! because we're all different.
gods got a plan for everyone. don't be envious of others; celebrate your friends triumphs. as a church, we are one body. as Christians, all together, we are the church. ultimately, its all for Jesus and we know it. let's live like it.
