Boldly to the Throne
Scripture: So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. (Heb. 4:16)
Observation: We no longer need to be afraid of entering the throne room of God. Jesus is our High Priest and through His sacrifice, He reconciled us to God. Jesus is the perfect High Priest who stood in the face of our temptations and did not sin. Because of our relationship to God through Jesus we can boldly approach the throne to receive his mercy and the grace that we so desperately need.
Application: I don't remember the last time I approached God boldly. It is even sometimes difficult to remember the last time I approached Him at all. But it is at His throne that I can receive the mercy and grace I need. There is no need for me to fear since Jesus has become my mediator and sacrifice for my weakness and sin.
Prayer: Dear God, help me to approach you bodly for the grace and mercy that I need. Help me to remember that it is through the work of Jesus my great High Priest that I have access to your very presence. Thank you dear Father for making this possible through your Son. Amen.
