Faith
Faith is strengthened by the trials of life. God is more interested in my character than my comfort or convenience. Peter says that problems are not a surprise, but rather a garantee. Through the trials of life, by responding in a faithful manner, God will develop the the character of Christ in me. Jesus was not exempt from suffering in this world, and neither am I. Focusing on the power of God rather than my problems will cause me to develop an attitude that will give strength through tragedy. In times of trouble, I do not talk about God, I talk to Him because I am never alone - God is always present.
