Interesting that Joshua is delivering this (basic) message: God has fulfilled EVERY DETAIL of His promise to you- now don't screw it up!!! He warns specifically against getting familiar with the people they conquered and their gods. It's funny when God does something, it is easy to just lay back, and get comfortable instead of staying on guard. We can so easily slip into the world's way of doing things just because we are happy and content. I pray that I can stay alert, even in good times- or especially in good times!!! Lord, help me use your blessing for the benefit of others and not for selfish gain- always being aware of the temptations the world offers and rejecting them!!!!
