THEME: Personal & Church Focus

SCRIPTURE: Acts 2:42-47 - they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread & to prayer.

OBSERVATION: Peter has just delivered his first sermon by which 3000 people surrendered their lives to Christ & were baptized. Then he implores everyone to save themselves from this corrupt generation, and then he goes on to show them how! He says DEVOTE YOURSELVES TO:

1. The Apostles Teaching - scriptures (devotions),
2. Fellowship - 7 days a week,
3. Breaking of Bread - Communion,
4. Prayer - intimate relationship with our heavenly Father,

Do this & everyone will be FILLED with awe..

APPLICATION: I must make sure that these things are the main focus of my life & also the main focus of our church. We must not allow ourselves to be distracted by insignificant rabbit trails. If I can maintain this kind of focus I will not only save myself but also many others from being ensnared by the wicked system of this corrupt generation!

PRAYER: Father help me to stay focused on the main things & then inspire your people to do the same! Help us become the church you desire...
