What spirit are you of?
"Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.....for the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. "
I wonder how often this is true of us? How many of our feelings and responses to things in our lives both personal and in the church are truly spiritual and not just personal indignation or preference. We should look at things through new eyes.... not through our own. There is no room for self in the life of a Christian and any time we are motivated by self, we must ask God to help us see the way. Proverbs tells us to Trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding. Christ did not strike back when struck, though surely he had the right to. He instead asked forgiveness of their sins. Praise God that he loved us while we were yet sinners!
