Consequences, not Repentance
Pharaoh hated the frogs....the consequence of his sin. He wanted so badly to be rid of them not due to his realization and rebellion against God. He wanted to be free of the consequences. Immediately, when the plague was ended, his heart hardened. How often am I like that? When faced with the results of my sin, do I merely want a "respite," or do I want God Himself. Unfortunately I often know the answer. God wants our hearts, and our consequences of sin can be used to get our attention. But often we can miss the lesson. We can allow pride to allow us to see only ourselves, not the God who seeks us. Let us choose to see the Lord first.
