God's infinite peace
Sometimes people do us wrong. They hurt us willingly and unwillingly, and how we react when wronged says something about the state of our hearts. Forgiveness, grace, love - God expects these to be our reactions. Yet, we so often load our emotional guns with anger, depression, vengeance and bitterness, which leads to more of the same and less toward healing and trusting God. We're wired to see justice done in the world, but the world often looks unjustifiable. We want to hold a grudge. We lament over broken pasts. We don't trust. Our hidden wounds and old hurts are too painful to share, yet God asks for them. He wants us to share the wounds, the dark thoughts and the lingering fears. Let's face it; He already knows. We cannot surprise an omniscient God. So what's holding us back? Nothing given will be rejected. Nothing said will turn Him away. God is not ashamed of who we are and will not forget the wounds we confess. He is madly in love with us and will always fight to bring peace into our hearts.
