going all in

Notice that Elisha kills his oxen before leaving with Elijah. He went "all in" with the call God was placing in his life and made sure there was nothing bringing him back. He could have sold the oxen, but he didn't. He gave the meat to the townspeople. The oxen were his previous way of making a living, by getting rid of them, Elisha was fully committing to the call of God through Elijah
