I heard of a boy's school where every morning at assemble each boy would recite a phrase of the Apostle's Creed. One morning, it started off fine with the first boy affirming, "I believe in God the Father Almighty." On went the recitation until it came to an abrupt stop, followed by a profound silence. Finally, a lad spoke up, "The boy who believes in the Holy Ghost is not here this morning. I guess we're missing our heavenly advantage!"

Jesus shares that His departure would put you in the spiritual catbird seat. The Holy Spirit would empower you for unbelievable service & witness (:8-11); guide you into unbelievable truth (:12-15) and present you with the most unbelievable promise - that you would belong to Him forever (:16-22).

All three of these (which I will look at individually with separate notes) provide you with the decisive dominance that you need in this world of sin. So whatever you do, don't lose your Heavenly Advantage!
