Reborn Identity
i have recently watched a movie called ' the bourne identity'. the main character is a guy named Jason Bourne who suffers from severe amnesia that leaves him haunted, frustrated and confuesed. when i was watching it i got to thinking that alot of us are like Jason, our stories may not be as dramtic but the issues are the same for e.g. who am i, and does anybody care? we run from relationship to relationship, social event to another social event, job to job and sometimes we find ourselves going from church to chruch, trying to find ourselves. Guys if we seek our sence of identity in our career who will we be when we retire.
we have to stop trying to find ourselves and just find god. he is the only one who can tell you who you are, we can have a significant and secure identity in a relationship with jesus. Even thoe god has created us in his image, sin ravaged our souls and denied us the joy of having a relationship with our creator, our identity as his prized and precious creation was damaged, that is until Jesus Christ came to rescue us and bring us back to the lord.
when we trust jesus for salvation we gain the privileged status of being 'im him'. he takes our old and makes us new. once you realise that you are a new creation your identity crisis will be over.
