Living with Thorns
I love the innocence of my son. He is 8 years old, and still very surprised by those that exhibit behavior that doesnt honor God. Since he lives most of his life around Christians, Ive made it a point to enroll him in city league sports, so that we have an opportunity to rub shoulders with the world, and hopefully share Jesus with them.
I know that the "thorns" are all around him, and yet he has retained his ability to stand our among them. I know the day is coming when the behavior of the thorns will not surprise him as much, so I remain in prayer for him.
Knowing where to step, which shoes to wear, and knowing the difference between the thorns and the wheat are the keys to remaining victorious over the thorns.
Every now and then, we painfully have to remove an infected remnant of a wayward thorn. The pain is excruciating for a moment, but soon feels better and heals over.
