Stepping Out
My theme from God this week is to Step Out! Gen 12:1-9, Exodus 3 and 4
What faith Abram had for stepping out of his comfort zone after 75 years of living in one place! He trusted God so much that he picked up all of his belongings and began a long, unknown journey; who knows what was to come! Abram didn't know for certain; but, he believed and knew God would honor his promise and take care of him as long as he was obedient.
Then there is Moses, God called him to step way out of his comfort zone! Go and talk to a hateful Pharaoh and try to convince the Israelites that God sent him to rescue them! How scary is that? He had many doubts, he even argued quite a bit; but, in the end he was obedient. It wasn't an easy journey getting those Israelites out of Egypt, but God held his promise and rescued the Isrealites from Egypt.
Like Moses, I stumble on my words when I'm nervous and I tend to doubt, so I need reassurance. Even when I have not been completely certain, God has always given me the words so I could say what I needed to say. I've been reminded, that through all our doubts and uncertainties, if we are obedient anyways and listen carefully, God will lead us where he needs us to go.
