Ashamed? Count Me Guilty
How often do we read Scripture about being ashamed of Jesus or the Gospel and immediately tell ourselves; "I'm not ASHAMED, I just get nervous talking to people... I'm just shy... I'm just an introvert... I just _______". The definition of ashamed is "unwilling or restrained because of fear of shame, ridicule, or disapproval". Isn't that the real reason for our lack of willingness to share Jesus; we fear disapproval? Jesus here in Mark says that if we are unwilling to share Him with others, then He will be unwilling to tell God the Father about us. Isn't it about time that we stop justifying our sin with softer statements and acknowledge we've been ashamed of the very Savior that hung in true shame in order that we might know eternity in the presence of God's love? Ashamed? Count me as guilty.
