the foolish things of this world...
In verses 12-14 of Judges 6, God shows up, and says in His greeting to Gideon, that He "is with you", and that Gideon is a "mighty man of valor". But, in verse 13, we see the frustrations of Gideon towards the Lord overflow when he sees Him! We see that Gideon wasn't incredibly happy with the Lord. Nor did he pretend to be when the Lord shows up. But yet, in verse 14 the Lord doesn't rebuke Gideon for his attitude(unless that phrase "Go in this might of yours" is referring to Gideon's zealous/excitement about what God "should be doing"). Gideon seems to me to be SO average, and honest. -God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise(1 cor 1:27). And the story of Gideon, and the defeat of the midianite army by just 300 men, is another proof of that!
-Lord, use me! You used Gideon- an average guy, who was very honest about his frustrations. It was clearly in YOUR strength that Israel was saved through Gideon! Use me as You desire!(to do mighty things, or humble things!) even in my doubts, and fears... Use me!
