Reliance on Self vs. Reliance on God
This seems to be one of the fundamental choices in life... who will I trust? Who will I follow? In passages like this, it can be tough to remember God's mercy and goodness. I can just sound SO harsh... The next verse goes on to say that God is going to destroy all their stuff. But He only does this to draw them back to Himself. He's not angry or vindictive. He's relentless and passionate.
