Abounding (well supplied) for every good work
It seems to me, from scripture, that the main focus of being wealthy is to fulfil good works (Gods purpose). Give so that you can receive and be well supplied for you to fulfil the good works you were created for. From my experience when I get a pay increase the temptation is to increase my expenditure instead of my giving which seems foolish since I could live well on the previous income.
The challenge I guess is not to be like the world and consume upon our lusts but to focus on what touches God's heart and channels our giving in that direction.
