- Psalm 142:7 (NKJV)
Again, David "complains," "explains" and "whines" to God that his life is a mess. Again about the evil ones chasing him and setting snares for him. "No one cares for my soul."
Blah, blah, blah...
But seriously. Don't we do the same thing? I mean we tell ourselves it isn't right to complain and that we should simply worship God for His goodness. But don't half our prayers end up being similar to David's?
..God, help me not to do that any more.
..God it just seems like we can't catch a break financially.
..God help me deal with my boss - it's getting so hard.
..God keep evil from entering my home.
I think David was the "man after God's own heart" because he didn't hold back. He laid it all out there. He was vulnerable and honest about his emotions. And yet, in the end, he was positive and optimistic: "For You shall deal bountifully with me."
