Footstool

For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,
"'The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool.' (Acts 2:34, 35 ESV)

a footstool=
to make one a footstool of one's feet, i.e. to subject, to reduce under one's power
metaph. taken from the practice of conquerors who placed their feet on the necks of their conquered enemies

If Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father until His enemies are made a footstool, then this means victory over the enemy will be enforced through His church. He's looking for us to rise up in the power of the Holy Spirit and reduce the devil under God's power, placing our feet on his neck. It's time for the church to rise up!

But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. (Hebrews 10:12, 13 ESV)

...we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Romans 8:37 ESV)

For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17 ESV)

but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57 NASB)

For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (1 John 5:4 ESV)

From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. (Matthew 11:12 NIV84)
