Cleansed by blood

Even cleansing from a skin disease required the blood of an innocent bird.  I am not sure but it was a first for me to read that that the person (not the altar) was sprinkled with blood.  I much prefer as Peter would say wash all of me - don't sprinkle me, cover me head to toe by the blood of Jesus.  I want it on every part of me!
