On this side of heaven

I love this verse because of the hope it gives to see the powerful, miraculous, outpouring of God on this side of heaven. I attended a funeral recently and the dominant theme seemed to focus on the hereafter. While I fully believe there will be no more weeping, or war or famine in eternity...I long for moments of that now.

This psalmist ends his song with great faith. "I will see God's goodness in the land of the living"[not in the land of the dead].

Makes wonder what good things God will show me today and tomorrow and next week and forever until the return of Jesus. I feel more confident I will see them now, on this side of heaven.
