Ahab completely blamed Elijah for the famine and all the issues that the land had. But Elijah reminded Ahab to look in the mirror. His actions and choices led to these consequences. He wanted the best of both worlds. He still kept Obadiah around (who was a devoted to God) but abandoned all of God’s ways. I wonder how many areas of my life I have chosen the ways of the man over God’s principles? I need to always examine who and what I devote myself too because like Andy Stanley said, “Your direction determines your destination.” If I make wrong choices and wake wondering why I don’t have God’s favor then it’s probably because I have been traveling down the wrong path in significant areas of my life.
