Day 25 - Your Soul or the World
Matthew 16:26
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Such a famous and often quoted passage, it's so true. It's a philosophy to live by, a way to see the world and our lives. First Jesus is telling us that our souls are worth more than everything that is in the world and we should see ourselves as being that valuable. Second, He is telling us that if we pursue the things and pleasures this world offers we will lose our soul. Stop what you are doing and think hard for a moment, and ask yourself: "What or who am I pursuing the most?" If it's not God and Jesus, I believe a realignment is due.
