Ask, Seek, Knock for the Holy Spirit

Most readers of this verse usually lean towards a general "ask, seek and knock" idea. But I think the text is loud and clear and is directing the asking, seeking and knocking towards receiving something specific. And that is the Holy Spirit.

Does this interpretation mean one is charismatic, pentecostal, cooky or way off? I don't think so. An honest look at the explicit grammar of the text will reveal that Jesus is referring specifically to the believer receiving, finding and having the Holy Spirit opened to him.

The question is not is that true but how and why?
