No Favoritism

Verse 11 lays down a principle that Paul has been developing in this chapter, and one that he will continue to develop. It's a critical part of God's make up, and it's also critical that we understand and believe this.

I think most Christians would say they believe it, but I'm not so sure just how deeply we've really taken this to heart.

Like most people, human nature always seems to find a way to excuse bad behavior for those we view as being "on our side" or "in our group," while condemning the very same behavior by people who aren't "with us."

As I write these words you can watch this play out with the arrest of Roman Polanski (9-30-2009). People in the arts, or who like him, or who consider him to be on their side, are trying to down play his raping of a 13 year old girl nearly 30 years ago, while those who view him as an outsider are condemning him roundly.

God however, views all sin as sin, and doesn't care if the one sinning is "on his side" or not! Sin will either be cleansed by the blood of Christ, or it will be judged by God's wrath.

Grace or wrath is offered to all, everyone has the same chance to be forgiven, all they must do is accept or reject Christ. It's up to us.
