When Jesus drew a large crowd he decided to take things up a notch, he climbed up the mountain, away from the crowd to a quiet place. He then taught his climbing companions... this was the sermon on the mount.

He actively made it more difficult to hear him speak, so only those who were prepared to follow him in the climb could hear what he had to say.
