By NOT to allowing the stuff of this world to pull us away from his presence.

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Once again, I want to help you get your life into the proper perspective.
For example YOUR KIDNEYS ….
- how many of you thought long and hard about your kidneys today ???
- the only ones that do think about their kidneys, if they don’t work well
James 4:13-14 Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money."
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
- Proverbs 16:9 In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.
How about this command?
Phil 4:4, 6 Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice …. or unless you have had a really hard day ???
When I am consumed with my problem, I am saying that I have the right to do it my way. (outside of God’s way)
- Worry – No trust in God or his Word (promises)
- Stress – My situation is so important that I will even treat God and others as less important.
It’s OK to SIN (by not rejoicing) and not trust God ?
Why are we so quick to get our perspective out of focus and forget God?
This is why we loose sight of God’s awesome love?
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
This is in the World (the world at its best)
Lust of the Flesh
Satisfying the five senses at the expense of the standard of righteousness (core values)
Control is the big weakness …. Have to have it …. Have to own it.
Meeting a legitimate need in a illegitimate way.
Gal 5:19 Works of the flesh
Phil 1:22-23 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
THE ANSWER TO THE FLESH PROBLEM …. LOVE GOD
Lust of the Eyes
Mark 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Not satisfied with what you have
Greed is the big weakness …. Ungratefull, unthankfull, lovers of self
(2Tim 3:2)
Proverbs 15:27 A greedy man brings trouble to hi family, but he who hates bribes will live.
Proverbs 28:25 A greedy man stirs up dissension, but he who trusts in the LORD will prosper.
Proverbs 29:4 By justice a king gives a country stability, but one who is greedy for bribes tears it down.

Pride of life
- If history of mankind would be a mayor Hollywood movie and you are in it, would you call all your friends together to watch the premiere?
- Your part would be about 2/5th of a second and GOD and JESUS and HOLY SPIRIT would be the main actors.
Proverbs 16:16 Pride goes before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
You can hide sin for a season, but you cannot hide PRIDE.
