How Great is God's Love?

This week I have been studying through 1 John. As I have read & studied it this week, I have forgotten how much I actually do love this letter that John wrote.
I have struggled at times in the past few months with the Love of God. Like it was said last night in our small group, I have known and still do know in my head that God loves me, but there has been a disconnect from knowing that He does with actually experiencing it or knowing it in my heart. Some of this is because of situations that have happened with me and my family over the past 10 months and the healing that has started with it… but as I am know in my head and I am starting to experience it more and more in my heart… that God lavished… bestowed His love on us by calling us children of God.
The word lavished means…
verb [ trans. ] ( lavish something on)
bestow something in generous or extravagant quantities upon : the media couldn’t lavish enough praise on the film.
• ( lavish something with) cover something thickly or liberally with : she lavished our son with kisses.
Can you imagine God doing this for us? What does this look like? What does this look like for us? May be you have never experienced God’s love before… if so, what would it take for you to know that you are experiencing God’s love?
