Death Rather Than Life?
Why would anyone want to stay in death? Not everyone allows God to bring them to life. Not all dead know they are dead. Cut a branch off a tree. The moment it is removed from its source of life it dies. It may live for a while, but it’s already dead. We were born cut off from the source of life. Therefore we were dead even though we seem to be alive. We think we’re alive. We act like we’re alive. We feel like we’re alive. But in fact, we’re already dead. We think what we have is life. We believe this is life. We call this life. But from God’s perspective it’s death. If life can be taken away from you, then life is not yours. God made us alive “with Christ”. When He raised Christ, He raised us. The same power that raised Christ raised us. If it was impossible for death to hold Christ (Acts 2:24), it is impossible for death to hold us. He joined us in our death, so we could join Him in His life. Since this is life that can’t be taken from us, this life is ours.
