Have Faith in Him

Sometimes we tend to pray with doubt in our hearts. I remember testing for Staff Sergeant and I would pray day and night...I would walk around saying to myself..Lord, please! I want this more than anything... please help me pass my exams so I can make rank... I'm studying so hard Lord... I really really pray that I make it... but Lord.. if I don't make it, it's alright. Maybe it just isn't meant to be.. Maybe it's not my time.....But it would be really nice if I did... please Lord help me if you can..
I didnt realize what I was doing wrong until I didn't make it the first time around. I realized I was praying with little faith. I wanted to make rank but I didnt whole heartedly trust God to help me. When it was time to test again... I had a brand new attitude. Matthew 21:22 says " If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer"
This time I made up in my mind that no matter what happened, I would make that rank. My prayer was no longer "Lord, help me if you can" it was "Lord, I will be testing here shortly... I've already claimed this... it's mine. Please be with me as I take this test.. Open my mind and help me understand each and every question so that I can mark the correct answer. I deserve this rank Lord and I believe in my heart that I will succeed. I know you will help me."
I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous before my exams... but it wasn't the kind of nervousness that I felt the year prior. I went in and prayed over every single question. I had faith and I believed this was my year... and the Lord was about to answer my prayer. And that He did. With the line number of 8420... I will be wearing my brand new stripe early next year.
Ask and you shall receive... just ASK and believe. That's all He's asking for... for you to have Faith in Him.
