Building Defenses in Times of Peace
King Asa in his early days reversed course from his fathers administration and returned to following the Lord and deconstructed all the failed policies of his father. The Lord gave him peace on every side. The one phrase that caught my eyes was this, "So they built and prospered".
You would have expected him to step back and take it easy. But every wise man knows that you have to be ever vigilant. Just because there is peace doesn't mean there are no enemies out there who would like to take us down. We must continue to be about the business of building up our walls of defenses.
The Christian walk is a daily walk. We can't afford to lie down and take the easy route. We have an adversary the devil who goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
So Build On Christian Build On.
