A good eye or a bad eye

These verses refer to the Jewish ajin ra'a (bad eye) and ajin tova (good eye). A bad eye means being greedy and a good eye means being generous. Jesus is thus warning for a lack of generousity! This fits perfectly in the context of this passage. (Source: David Stern, The Gospel is Jewish)
