Paul was not trying to draw attention to himself, he was a man of a troubled past. Religious, but wrong. Killed Christ followers, smug in his works, until Jesus was revealed to him. Paul had the attitude we must all have. WE are the worst. When we begin to compare ourselves to others, we are making the work of Christ more important in some peoples life and less important in others. We are making OUR work more important, when we do think that our sin is not as bad as someone else’s.
