The true Existentialism.
Throughout my life I've been fascinated by philosophy. Especially the works of Plato and Buddha regarding life, spirituality and relative existence. The one thing they could never explain to me, however, was how God fits into our relativity. Only the magnificent mind of the Apostle Paul could do this without getting all airy and full of meaningless drivel about matter, purpose, common "types", and other philoso-babble that just seems to add layer upon layer of endless conjecture and argument to any simple position about life.
I like when things have an answer. Furthermore, I love it when things that others find tediously and never-endingly open for speculation come to me wrapped in a neat package with a bow on it, with all of my questions answered. This is how things are when we trust in God. Simple. Complete.
As Jesus said, "It is accomplished." Never have truer words come from God through the mouth of His only Son. It was if the God of the Angel Armies himself came down and announced it to us all during the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. I sometimes find myself baffled by people around me who quote philophers like Descartes or Voltaire. Or my "spritual" friends who have studied Eastern religious thought, Buddhism, and Hindu teachings. One thing I notice constantly is that they are still asking questions. Why? What is so complicated about human existence? We are born, we live, and we die. If our purpose is so enigmatic, or entirely a random accident of the universe, then what is the point? It's only when we ACCEPT that God created us, loves us, and has made us for His purpose alone, that we can stop asking silly questions of life.
This particular passage from Paul is just that. Straight to the point. Right at the heart of the matter. No questions asked. This is how it is, how it always has been, and how it always will be. God is our Lord and Father of all, and He's constantly having to come and take us home, as if we were infants wandering in the mall, getting lost. Once we accept Him and allow Him to act in our lives, our existence becomes obvious. There is no other, no higher power, no greater than the Lord God Almighty. He is, and was, and ever shall be. With Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen
And that's the last philosophy lesson I'll ever have to give. Period.
