What to do in church?
26 What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church (NIV)
According to this verse everyone has a role to play in church. I ,myself must confess that I find church services in the west very boring. it is all about one person (the pastor) taking the floor for 40 min. Of course before the pastor takes his place you have 20 min of worship but in general the church service is as good as the sermon that morning.
We all need to rely on the Holy Spirit to contribute to the church meeting, not just one person, the pastor etc.
Let us live our life's depending on the Holy Spirit and look for ways how we can encourage the body. I don't think a church service on Sunday gives us freedom to do that, but we are definitely not bound to one day in a week. We have a whole week to encourage believers...let us actively seek how we can do that.
