The Lord Helps Those Who Help Themselves?
We study the contrast of Martha and Mary in several contexts. Martha and Mary ask the same question of Jesus yet receive different answers and different reactions from Jesus. I note that Martha heard he was coming and she acted, on her own, to rush out and meet Him. Mary remained where she was and waited for Jesus to call her. A lesson in obedience. She was rewarded or perhaps because of her relationship with Jesus she knew to wait for Him and she touched him deeply.
