Something to Ponder


The Jews seemed perplexed at why John was baptizing. It would seem that, according to their understanding, if someone was baptizing such as John was then that person would have been either Elijah or the Messiah. If this is the case, as which it seems, then this is just another piece of evidence that Jesus is the Messiah. It is rather interesting that many of the Jews rejected him even though he fulfilled their expectations. It didn't help that John denied being Elijah. I can understand why he denied it. He truly didn't believe he was any type of an incarnation, but Jesus does confirm that he truly was Elijah.
