The Godless Recognize Righteousness
In this scripture we find that King Darius, a man presumably outside the family of God, concerned about what has befallen a righteous servant of God. So many times those that try and do the right thing get discouraged and think that the actions they take do not matter but, even in the eyes of the unsaved, we see that our actions do matter. Here Daniel is being mourned by an unsaved king, one who we might thing wouldn't know the difference between right-living and sin-ful living. Darius recognized the goodness in Daniel ... Who's the King Darius in your life? Is it a boss or a co-worker, a friend or a family member? By the grace of God and by our example, our testimony, the preaching of God's Word are men and women brought to salvation. Daniel's testimony was in his right living. I'm sure he wasn't perfect BUT, he was noticeably different.
