The centurion 1st sent many others before he actually went to Jesus himself. The 1st thing this man did when he got there was humbling himself before Jesus (keeping in mind this was a man of authority) this man actually went on his knees before Christ, pleading with him. In the same manner must we approach Jesus and humble ourselves in prayer. Jesus actually agreed to go to this Centurions house but the man had so much faith he told Jesus just to speak a word (not words) and his servant will be healed. This is real faith. the type we should have. Jesus was actually astonished at this man and the amount of faith he had. This not only believed that Jesus could heal, but he could heal from a disrance and by just saying a word. Not words. Now i see why Jesus was so amazed at this man. Nothing can limit God, he is omnipotent! in v11-12 Jesus meant that the Kingdom of God is not for a specific type of people or nationality but everyone is invited. But not everyone takes the invitation sadly. The Jews of Jesus' time are not welcome because they rejected Jesus and lost their place at the feast and theyll be thrown into hell ( Luke 13:28-29) only those who believe and obey Jesus will be at the feast. the true subjects of the Kingdom. As this man believed it was done for him, anything is possible for the person who believes (Mark 9:23). The Faith this man exhibited should be the kind we should have, the type of Faith that challenges Jesus and amazes him!
