Control

As I read these verse I think about control. What I try to control, what I can control, and what is out of my control.

Whether to worry or not - in my control.
To pray asking for needs and thank God for who he is- in my control.
Experiencing peace - not in my control, but try to.
Understand things outside of my knowledge base - not in my control, but try to.
A peace that guards my heart and mind - not in my control.

I am also once again reminded that faith in God is not a a series of formulas, but a series of choices. It is not prayer = peace. It is our choice to pray & God's choice to exceed those prayers both the request and the praises.

We pray for water, He gives us rain. We thank Him for his presence, He hugs us tighter. What we bring to God, is where He shows up. If we don't bring it, it is like keeping it for ourselves. We keep it under our domain, our control. Instead, we should give it up whether good or bad. Then our hearts will be guarded and though we never know the why... we will know the if.

We thank God for all He's done... as if we know all that He has done. But that doesn't matter... do it anyway.

Those are just my thoughts.
