Sometimes seeing is believing?

I would think that in order for Luke to be a physician, he would have to have been a very detailed oriented person. Some might say he was a dot (referring to his personality type). I would think he would need to know the why’s before he believed. When a young child is in his developmental years a common question asked is “why?” I remember in grade school learning and sharing about current events in class. Each one of us had to stand before the class and share about news that was currently going on in the world. Before each presentation we were given a list of questions to answer (Who? What? Where? When? Why?). These questions helped us to see the factual information of each story. We could tell if the student’s presentation came from the National Enquirer or the Miami Herald because of these fact finding questions.

I also remember a conversation I had with my cousin Joey, who had recently become a hari krishna. He described how he and his brother Timmy (who is a temple priest) and others went early in the morning to the temple in Hawaii. When a veil was lifted to worship the little statue idols something happened in him. He saw the other people’s worship and that was enough for him to put his faith in this false religion. Needless to say his experience did not move me convert. What do I sound like when I share my born again experience with others? Luke’s faith grew because of the facts (Who? What? Where? When? Why?) of the story. He interviewed eye witnesses and his writings hold weight because of the factual nature behind them. Lord Jesus help me to study to show myself approved rightly dividing the facts and spiritual experience when sharing my faith and PLEASE SAVE Joey & Timmy!
