The Sin of Sodom

Most people view the sin of Sodom as exclusively homosexuality and that God destroyed this city because of that sin. If fact, this is not supported by the Bible. In these passages, we have clear reasons why God destroyed Sodom. God hates sin, in all its forms. God is speaking to Ezekiel here and prophesying through him when he says that Sodom was destroyed because she was haughty and arrogant and did not give to the needy and poor. As true Christians, we must stop putting sins on different levels and holding prejudices towards those who practice or participate in certain sins. It has been a well known trend that the church has been harsh, often even violent towards homosexuals and certain other types of sin (like child molestation) while often disregarding other sins. God sees all sin the same. The sin of the dashing husband who "has a little on the side" is no different than the sin of the 45 year old man who entices little girls into having sex with him. I realize this sounds harsh and I apologize if I have offended, but the fact is that sin is sin no matter what the offense. We need to start basing our views and judgment on The Bible and stop reading our own agendas into God's design and plan for our lives. The only way to show someone the true light and hope of Christ is through loving them back into The Kingdom. Hate the sin, not the sinner. That's how God does it.
Thank you.
