so I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?”

Nehemiah understood what we all need to understand that despite everything, and everyone, that tries to move us off our purpose that God gives us, we OURSELVES need to stay on track. Life can present us with many distractions, but it is up to us to recognize those distractions and respond the way Nehemiah did, “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down."
