The Value of Discipline
Proverbs talks repeatedly about the value of discipline. In this verse, we are told that discipline is the way to life. Earlier we are reminded that God disciplines us because he loves us. How many times have we told our own children this? Yet we, ourselves, tend to forget this valuable lesson when we are on the other side of the discipline. When you find that your life is out of control and all of your plans seem to be falling apart around you, keep in mind that this could be God's discipling and that He does this because he loves you.
